"Casa de la Moneda" or Colombian Mint was founded by the Spanish military engineer Alonso Turrillo de Yebra in the 17th century. Since 1996 it houses the numismatic and art collection of the Bank of the Republic. It is located on 11th Street with Carrera 4, in the Colonial district of La Candelaria in downtown Bogotá.
