- The stamp shows what was once the most important convent of the Dominicans of the new Granada.
Founded in 1550, the convent entered a crisis with the War of Independence (1810-1830) and although it managed to recover, the convent community was abolished by the Liberal government of Tomás Cipriano de Mosquera in November 1861. The building was expropriated, being destined at the beginning for the headquarters of the Congress of the Republic and then as offices of the Ministry of Post and Telegraph. As the result of the modernizing fever, the convent was destroyed in 1938 by the will of the national government, presided by Eduardo Santos. In its replacement a mass of reinforced concrete was build, called at the time "Palace of Communications ". - 现在购买:
