- Kaulbach Island is a small privately-owned island in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. The islands' owners issued local stamps from 1971 to 1984, which were only used on mail from the island to mainland Nova Scotia (a 6 minute boat ride). They could only be used on the back of the envelope and Canadian Postage was used on the front before dropping in the regular mail.
