- Svalbard, also known as Spitsbergen, or Spitzbergen, is a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. They use Norway stamps for all postal matters. They are not authorized to produce stamps. This item is illegally produced by a private source with intent to profit from and deceive collectors. They are being promoted by a notorious illegal and counterfeit stamp dealer using names like "Spectre" 和 "svalbardstamps" located in Svalbard. This dealer has created websites and blogs completely based on lies on their authenticity. This includes at one point claiming Russia has some sort of authority over Svalbard which it does not. Several websites this criminal has created have been taken down by them or completely modified with complete deletion of false content. Avoid anyone selling these!
