Hello,

If someone could possibly answer me please.... I find this site the most complicated thing I´ve ever seen!

How can I upload collectibles? I am trying to do this during 4 days, but one question lead to another and another and so on and there is no practical advises in how to manage lists.

Please help.

I also have a problem: I don't know whether I want to swap any of my stamps. For the time being I would simply like to build my own collection which, as far as China is concerned, is much bigger than what I have found on line. The explanation given under Personal Collection is not that clear. In addition, I am disturbed by the fact that under China (the only country I had a look at) The People's Republic (Mainland China) is mixed up with the Republic of China (Taiwan).

I was under the impression that one could contribute to the growth of the existing collection!...

If you don't feel like swapping with other collectors in the time being, just don't tag any collection you have that are up for swaps (eventhough you will get PMs asking if you want to trade, you can't escape that)

Actually, the Republic of China existed within mainland china from 1912~1949 before People's republic took over during the long bloody civil war, Taiwan's stamps listed with "Republic of china" started only in 1946, but I do agree that it should be broken up into 3 separate countries (4 if tyou want to include the Qing Dynasty stamps that existed before 1912)

It's actually not complicated at all but perhaps a bit different than what you are used to. Have you read the page recommended above? Please be more specific if you need more help.

i have found the system quite easy to use, i just go through my collection and add which coins / notes which are listed in the data base. unfortunately i have quite a lot of coins / notes which are not on the data base but hopefully they will be soon.............

Well, i think there's some misunderstanging here...

You can't REALLY UPLOAD your HOME MADE LIST to Colnect, really...

UPLOAD is when you grab a file form your personal computer and send it to the net...

Colnect doesn't have that feature for lists, as far i know....

You can, REALLY, tag the items you have in your collection based on Colnect catalogues!

That's different.

Let's say that's like rebuild your list from scratch, since Colnect doesn't has a REAL LIST UPLOAD feature, but a TAGGING SYSTEM for anyone to build its lists....

And indeed, is a system easy to use...

A litle bit slugish for begginers, but easy to learn and use....

Having the centralized catalog on Colnect is what gives us the power of automatic matching that saves collectors a lot of time trying to find what they really want.

A database upload feature cannot really be implemented properly as the items must be identified by the collector.

I just signed on the other day and started by uploading my personal German banknote collection. Uploading was easy BUT when I finished I found multiple postings for some notes. It seems if I accidentally opened up the wrong note or looked at the same note twice it added it to my list and I can't seem to delete these extra notes. I don't see a delete function. I now have the same note on my log six times. I assume being a rookie I'm missing something obvious. Thanks.

Each item can be marked only once. The log simply shows your recent activity. You should look at the "My Lists" page or simply your profile page.

OK thanks. Have you considered making it a visual documentation device? I thought it was pretty cool that I could have an image list of my collection. Lots easier than going in and out of the numerous year lists for the country.
