Hello Colnect Team,

I would like to request access to the Colnect API for a private, non-public FileMaker application.

My focus is on Dutch stamps, and the app is only for my personal use.

Purpose:

• Store and manage my own Dutch stamp collection.

• Retrieve complete series/year listings to check which stamps are missing.

• Use fields like Colnect ID, year, denomination, series/set ID, and image URLs.

Technical:

• Built in FileMaker, using cURL (Insert from URL) + JSON parsing.

• All responses will be cached locally to reduce API calls.

• Will respect rate limits and headers (If-Modified-Since / ETag).

• Attribution included: “Data & images © Colnect / community”.

• Strictly private use, no redistribution or bulk downloads.

Could you please provide me with an API key and the endpoint documentation?

Hello,

Colnect has the API available for those who will develop tools that may benefit collectors in general. In order to apply for CAPI access it's needed to fill out and submit this Colnect API Application. The mentioned purposes of managing collection and checking missing stamps can be easily achieved directly on Colnect. You can find more info on Colnect and how to use it on these help pages.
