I read that there's a monthly subscription in addition to the annual Premium subscription. My question: Does the monthly subscription still last a year (but you can pay monthly). Or is it possible to subscribe for just 2-3 months and then stop paying without waiting for a year?

With the monthly subscription you can become a premium member for any amount of months and cancel the subscription anytime.
