Sold only in complete sets on the day of its issuance (estimated to have been 10000 sold approximately), they were resold between 22 and 25 December (also individually).
Contrary to what the Michel catalogue mentions, these stamps were obligatory for the national mail during this days to raise funds necessary to finance the anniversary ceremonies. A total of 200.000 complete series were printed, of which an estimated 30.000 were sold. The remaining ones were to be destroyed, but there is no official document that guarantees.
