The Awá are a Amerindian people who inhabit both sides of the border between Colombia and Ecuador, in the very humid forests of the western slope of the Andes; Most of them speak their native language the AWA pit. Most of the members of this ethnic group live in Colombia.
The Awá conceive a higher world populated with beings with special powers.
Some of the relevant divinities in the Awá pantheon are: Chutún, a bad deity of the forest; Lord of Kuaiquer, image of Christ revered by the Awá, and Cueche, the harmful spirit of the forest in addition to the "Hojarasquín ", 该 "Goblin ", and the "Cocopollo".

说明:: The stamp shows a part of the El Hato landhaouse that nowadays serves as an inn and hotel. It is the place where the facts, reported in one of the many popular folk legends that characterize the Llanera culture,happened.

According to the legend, two men were arguing about who would win the love of a beautiful young girl. After facing verses, to the rhythm of joropo, one of them was shot to death. Before falling to the ground a bullet from his gun took the life of that girl.
Since then, in the same day of each year, the white figure of a woman of inegualable beauty appears, moving away the strangers from the place of the facts.
