The stamp shows a wooden carwed statue of Saint Francis Xavier, S.J. (born Francisco de Jasso y Azpilicueta), 7 April 1506 – 3 December 1552), who was a Navarrese Basque Roman Catholic missionary, born in Javier (present day Spain), and a co-founder of the Society of Jesus. On its right, the gate of the former University and Academy of Saint Francis Xavier in Bogotá, wich houses today the Museum of Colonial Art.
