- Second Issue. legends and stories of Rona. Church Cave the famous landmark used as a church before the Mission House was built on Rona. The Rona postman who walked, sometimes three times a week in all weathers with up to a half hundredweight on his back. The Danish Princess’ s grave the oldest legend on Rona and of course Janet Mackenzie who burned a lamp to give seafarers a guide into the harbour after losing her husband and sons during a storm in 1822. Issued on the 1st of January 2004.
History and Purpose
Establishment: The local post was founded in 2003 by island managers Bill and Lorraine.
功能: They were created to help fund the charter boat that carries mail from Rona to the mainland.
用法: To send a letter from the island, a Rona stamp must be used alongside a standard Royal Mail stamp. The Rona stamp covers the "private" journey to the mainland, while the Royal Mail stamp covers the rest of the trip.
2026 订单状态:
As of early 2026, the status of future stamp production is uncertain. Following the retirement and departure of the long-term island managers in late 2025, the new owners have paused island activities (including holiday bookings) for 2026 while they transition management.
