Numbered mini sheet of six stamps
reproducing the 5 motifs for the first stamps issued in 1859 and a stamp with the purpose of commemoration.

On September 1, 1859, this was at the time of issue 150 years before, the first stamps were printed for postal purpose in Colombia. On this date, practically, philately in Colombia is started, considering the 1st of September, the day of the Colombian philatelist.
The use of stamps for the paying of correspondence and parcels had been established by an organic law of the National post of April 27, 1859.
The first issue, which was printed in Bogota by the brothers Celestino and Jerónimo Martínez, was made up of five stamps, which had as a motive the emblem of the Confederation of Granada with facial values and different colors: 2.5 cents: green; 5 cents: 紫色; 10 cents: yellow; 20 cents: 蓝色; $1: 红色.
