Islay is the southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. It has a British Post office. It has had a British Post office since mid 1800's. Since 2017 private entities have been promoting these labels inscribed "Isle of Islay" with British pence monetary values. There is no evidence except by the word of the producer of any funding from them going to the island and they are as of 2022 not sold on the island. The entities want to claim them as Cinderella stamps and claim not to be in it for huge profits when in reality, they are bogus labels made to profit from stamp collectors and general collectors. This proven by the huge amount of work they have done to promote sales of the labels by developing websites dedicated to selling them, to offering on numerous stamp venues, to promoting them on numerous social media outlets.
