This item was illegally produced according to Michel catalog after all agency contracts were terminated on July 31, 1972 and therefore were produced without the authorization of the postal administration inscribed on the stamps. They have never had postal validity.

Ajman continued to issue their own stamps until March 31, 1973. This particular item was illegally produced by the Middle East Stamp Company who was in direct conflict with Finbar Kinney and Martin Sellinger who were the true stamp agencies in charge of all Michel listed Ajman stamps in the 1970's. This "issue" is not listed in the Michel catalog just as all issues produced by the Middle East Stamp Company are not listed. It has never been listed in the Minkus Trucial States stamp catalog either.
