The shield is circular on a garland of wild heliconias that fall on the sides in the form of lambrequins, which frame the shield. It boasts the beauty of the Amazonian flora that covers the department. On a sky blue field, the green silhouette of the map of the department. On this are located three gold stars in an ascending and increasing way, in memory of the administrative political process of Putumayo: the Police Station, the Intendency and the Department.
On the upper part, a crown of feathers, indigenous ceremonial llajtu, as a symbol of authority and wisdom of the Putumayense man. The three feathers that stand out from the crown symbolize the three borders that converge in the Putumayo: Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. At the base, two spears stand as emblems of defense and surveillance of the territory, its natural riches, its ancestral traditions that make up the Cultural Heritage. Putumayo is in the south-west of the country, bordering Ecuador and Peru. Its capital is Mocoa. The word putumayo comes from the Quechua languages. The verb p'utuy means "to spring forth" 或者 "to burst out", and mayu means river. Thus it means "gushing river". Belonging to the Colombian Amazon region, it is a department rich in biodiversity and a preferred destination for ecotourism. Sibundoy existed well before the Spanish came in 1534. The Inca, under Huayna Cápac, conquered the local people in 1492 and established a Quechua-speaking settlement; their descendants are the modern Inga people. Most of the citizens of Sibundoy are indigenous, and wear long, blue and violet ponchos called kapisaius and baitas. Sibundoy is known for mask carving and other traditional crafts. One especially important event is the Carnival of the Return of the First People, which is both a fun event and key celebration of local mythology. - 现在购买:
