Remembrances of the beat fever will remember the name of Jiří Korn (1950) in connection with the group Rebels, where he worked as a bassist and choir singer, while others will remember the group of František Ringo Czech or Jandův Olympic. This is where Jiří Korn worked everywhere, before embarking on a solo singing career, the beginnings of which inevitably include Svoboda and Rytíř's Yvetta... His work with Rebels was preceded by singing in the children's choir of Czechoslovak Radio Prague directed by prof. 爵士. Bohumil Kulínský and performing with several amateur ensembles.
With the Rebels, Jiří Korn recorded the LP Sleeping Beauty; in 1971, he took part in the Intertalent international festival of young pop music performers — and won with Yvetta. A year later, he won the audience prize at the international festival of socialist countries Dresden "72 with it, and the same song took him to first place in the traditional poll of the GDR youth magazine Junge Welt.
Jiří Korn's stage performance combines his characteristic vocal performance with excellent movement culture into an impressive form; almost every one of his songs has its own choreography and an unmistakable form. The singer often represents Czechoslovak popular music abroad, he sang in all socialist countries and also won valuable trophies abroad. At the International Song Festival in Paris, he received the Grand Prix for his interpretation of the song Robinson (Josef Kolín-Vladimír Čort), he won first place at the OIRT Festival of Countries in Finland with the composition Radost hok do rána (Ladislav Štaidl-Miroslav Černý), and in 1979 he won the second year of the song festival in Cavan, Ireland with the melody You're My Voodoo (Eduard Parma-Miloš Skalka). The beginning of the eighties belonged entirely to the collaboration with Helena Vondráčková and the Gustav Brom Orchestra.
