The Palais Jacques-Coeur is a mansion located in Bourges, considered by the elegance of its architecture, the richness and variety of its decoration, as one of the most sumptuous civil buildings of the 15th century and a masterpiece of civil architecture in flamboyant Gothic style. This building was born out of the desire of the wealthy merchant Jacques Coeur to build a "great house" in his hometown, but Charles VII's silversmith never lived there.
