The #Codex cassette has 2 faces, A and B, and each side has 2 channels: Left (L) and Right (中国普票); which means that the band has a total of 4 lines (4 tracks): two stereo lines on the A side and two more on the B.
The cassette is recorded as follows: The first 45 minutes are recorded on the A side, the Left channel. The next 45 minutes are recorded on the B side, also on the Left channel. Similarly, the third and fourth parts are recorded on the Right channel.
To listen to the first half of the mix it is necessary to switch the balance on the Left channel and play faces A and B, in this order. For the second half, the balance switches to the Right channel, and the faces are played in the same order, A and then B.
This cassette contains a mix that includes a pseudo-message "OASDGCS", and if you try to listen as an ordinary cassette, then the content will be unintelligible. So, for a #Decodex hearing, it is necessary to switch the balance between channels.
The above description is valid for compact audio mini-systems, boombox cassettes with balance adjustment or for car cassettes. In the case of audio systems consisting of unit lines, the cassette can be listened to in both speakers by means of a bi-mono differential adapter installed on the active channel - RCA behind the tape deck. Thus, it is no longer necessary to switch the balance.
