This new album is largely inspired by Brett Easton Ellis's novel 'Less than zero' published in 1985, and to a lesser extent, 'The Rules of Attraction'.
The characters are haunted by malaise, a vertigo of emptiness and incommunicability, where an progressing anguish, that is as impalpable as it is frightening, constantly emerges.
The seemingly monotonous narration, reinforced by the impassive tone used to recount both the worst and the most trivial events, creates a sense of spiral and serves to create this oppressive atmosphere.
The music on this album is a kind of reflection of this feeling of an oppressive spiral towards an existential void, which to my opinion, tends overwhelm western consumerist society, glorifying futility and appearances.

This new edition of 'Dawn & Dusk Entwined: Crossed Paths' is a reflection coming from a step back 4 years after the release of "When I die...", and a feeling of frustration.
The original edition, released in november 2020, after a break of 7 years, had ended up with (what I consider today) a frustrating result due to too many tracks still sounding like 'demos' in the end, along with a clumsy choice of track order.
With the light and experience of 4 years writing new material, including Godwin point, the tracks were revisited in autumn 2024 and spring 2025 with a more assertive direction, resulting in more mature versions and offering them the sound they deserved.
An unfinished demo (at the time), 'This is happening', succeeded in taking a decent shape in this working period and now appear in this new edition, along with 'The passing of the years', exclusive to this record too.
'In every dreamhome, a heartache' is a cover of Roxy music (1973), whereas 'Julian' is a new version of the D+DE track featured on 'Dawn & Dusk Entwined: Remergence' (2003).
Both tracks (here slightly remixed) were initially part of the limited and sold out EP 'Dawn & Dusk Entwined Feat. Patrick Leagas: Promises To Keep EP'.
About 'The breath of Ishtar':
Ishtar was the babylonian goddess of love and sexuality, a warrior goddess and is also an astral deity (Venus).
In the 17th century BC, King Ammi-ditana of Babylon composed an hymn to her glory. It has been adapted here for the song.
