The obverse: in the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (Bank of Russia) framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (Three Rubles), 参阅见后: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue "2012 г." (2012), to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
The reverse: on the upper part of the coin disc - the stylized image of a Viking ship on the wavy water surface with warriors on board, to the right above - two fishes, on the lower part of the disc - the fragment of a chronic with the picture showing the group of people applying to a prince sitting on the throne; on the broad stripe formed by the rim and a concentric circle line - the inscription going from the left to the down and to the right: "1150-ЛЕТИЕ ЗАРОЖДЕНИЯ РОССИЙСКОЙ ГОСУДАРСТВЕННОСТИ" (1150th Anniversary of the Orgin of the Russian Statehood), on the upper part of the stripe - ornaments of sinuous lines.
