Around, the four shields signifying the domains of King George III: on top, a shield halved with the three lions of England and the lion of Scotland (as king of Great Britain; on the right, a shield with the fleurs-de-lis of France, marking his claim on the throne of FRance (at that time - already defunct); below, the harp of Ireland as king of Ireland; and on the left, the arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg (Electorate of Hanover), of which he was Elector as Georg III. Wilhelm Friedrich. The shields are separated by four St Edward's Crowns.
