I collect stamps worldwide but only postally used (stamps with postal cancellations other than CTO stamps).

A CTO (cancel to order) stamp is a stamp that has been cancelled without having been used for postage. I do not collect these. Where a cancelled stamp is from a country that produces CTO (cancel to order) stamps it will be assumed to be CTO unless it appears obviously postally used. And where a cancelled stamp is from a country the does not produce CTO stamps it will be assumed to be postally used unless it appears obviously to be CTO. Please do not send stamps that are CTO, mint, uncancelled or pen cancelled.

I am flexible on how the exchanges are arranged as long as they are fair and everyone is happy. Because of the high costs of international registered mail from Canada I generally do not use it. If you are in a country where regular mail is not reliable it is likely not possible for us to exchange stamps.

Generally I prefer to exchange by catalogue values. I use the Scott Catalogue, but we could use the values in Michel, Yvert or Stanley Gibbons if you prefer. Stampworld “values” do not properly reflect the actual values of many stamps, so I do not use stampworld values as a basis for exchanges.

For very valuable stamps having a catalogue value over $50, €50 or £50 it is best to send a scan of the stamps first so everyone sees exactly what is being sent and received.

For stamps valued at less than $1, €1 or £1, swapping 1 for 1 works okay as long as less common stamps are exchanged for less common stamps. It does not make much sense to exchange the harder to find stamps with a colnect score of 80% for common stamp scoring 20%.

Please do not send any stamps until we have reached and agreement on an exchange.
