In addition to the design this stamp included an integral horizontal label showing a bar code. This value was intended for use on greetings cards posted on or before 31st Jan 1987 and represented a 5c saving when used in conjunction with special postcoded envelopes. These stamp were valid for normal postal purposes after 31 January 1987 when used with other values.
