Unauthorized imperforate reprint.
According to research, all imperforate stamps of this issue are unauthorized productions by forgers after the original printer went out of business in 1990. No legitimate error stamps were produced.
These illegitimate reprints also exist with "inverted" spitfires, omissions of the state name "Nevis" and other printing abberations. They are occasionally marketed as "proofs".
