From Collectors Collecting Wiki

Pheasants belong to the Phasianidae family and are known for their striking plumage, long tails, and elaborate courtship behaviors. Native to Asia but now found in many regions across the world, these birds inhabit woodlands, grasslands, and farmlands. Males are often brightly colored, while females tend to be more camouflaged for nesting protection.

Different species include the Golden Pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus), the Blyth’s Tragopan (Tragopan blythii), the Himalayan Monal (Lophophorus impejanus), and the Mikado Pheasant (Syrmaticus mikado). Each species exhibits unique characteristics and plays a role in its local ecosystem, contributing to seed dispersal and insect control.

In cultural contexts, pheasants have appeared in folklore, symbolism, and traditional art, often associated with beauty, prosperity, and nobility.
